FAQ
What do your kitchens cost?
My kitchens start from £20,000 for the cabinetry which is made by hand in my Perranporth workshop. Worktops, appliances, and fitting are quoted separately as part of your full project proposal. For a detailed breakdown of what’s included, visit my pricing page.
Have you got a kitchen showroom?
I do — a small, dedicated showroom in my workshop in Perranporth, right on the north Cornish coast. It’s open by appointment, which means when you visit, you have my complete and undivided attention. I’d love you to make a day of it — the beach is moments away. Get in touch to arrange a visit.
Can you fit my kitchen?
Yes i highly recommend that my team fit your kitchen as part of the service. That way you can ensure the best possible finish is acheived. We offer a professional kitchen fitting service. My kitchen fitter is meticulous in his eye for detail and has over 25 years experience.
Do you do a site visit to measure?
Yes this is part of our service. We may also bring our kitchen fitter to make sure technical elements such as plumbing and electrics are positioned correctly prior to install.
Do you have wood & Formica samples?
Yes we have a variety of wood and laminate colour samples available to view in our kitchen showroom in Perranporth.
How long does it take to design and build my new kitchen?
Every kitchen is different, but as a general guide:
Design: 3-4 weeks
Making: 6-8 weeks
Fitting: 1-2 weeks (With an additional 1-2 weeks for worktop templating & fitting.)
Total Time: 12-16 weeks
How many kitchens do you make each year?
A maximum of six. This is a deliberate choice — it means every client gets my full attention and every kitchen gets the care it deserves. I’d recommend getting in touch early if you’re planning a project, as spaces are taken well in advance.
Do i need to prepare my kitchen for fitting?
When the time comes for your new kitchen to be fitted, There are a few things that we require to ensure your kitchen fit goes as smoothly as possible.
- All old kitchen fittings and fixtures must be removed from the room
- Walls plastered
- All electrics and plumbing in place and ready for connecting appliances. Any high power items such as electric cookers require a qualified electrician to fit so will need to be arranged to visit the same time as fitting.
Can you supply kitchen appliances?
Yes we can. We have access to the top brands such as Neff, Miele, Siemens and many more to make your kitchen journey that bit easier. If you do wish to purchase your own appliances, that is also ok. We just ask for as much specification on each model and all installation manuals so that we can design and ensure these will fit.
Can you supply worktops?
Yes we do. We have worktop samples in our showroom and work closely with various Cornish worktop suppliers. Organising templating and worktop fitting is all part of our service.
What materials do you use?
I make all my kitchens with FSC-certified baltic birch plywood — grade A/B, the highest quality available. It’s a material I chose deliberately, not by default. Unlike chipboard or MDF, birch plywood is cross-bonded for structural strength, won’t swell or warp over time, and has a natural beauty that only improves with age. The end grain on every edge is a signature of how it’s made — and why it lasts. See more about my kitchen features here
